Public Hearings
Notice is hereby given that public hearings will be held on May 20, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., or soon thereafter, by the Brunswick County Board of Supervisors to consider the following:
1. Conditional Use Permit #26-008. The Towers LLC d/b/a Vertical Bridge/Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless, applicant, is requesting approval of a conditional use permit to construct, operate, and maintain a 195-foot monopole communications' tower. The subject property is located on the northside of Western Mill Rd. (State Route 670),located approximately one and seven-tenths (1.70) of a mile south of the intersection of
Milas Dr. (State Route 700) and Western Mill Rd., located in the Totaro magisterial and Powellton electoral districts, also identified as Tax Map 64, Parcel 24.
2. Rezoning Case #25-034. Henry W. and Louise M. Keiser, applicants, are requesting to rezone two (2) acres to Residential (R-2) Zoning District.
The Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan designates the subject property for Agricultural/Residential. The subject property is located on the south side of Flat Rock Rd. (State Route 643),
located approximately two-tenths (0.2) of a mile east of the intersection of Brunswick Dr. (State Route 644) and Flat Rock Rd.,located in the Red Oak magisterial and electoral districts, also identified as Tax Map 20, Parcel 40.
3. Rezoning Case #26-005. Michael and Dora Smith, applicants, are requesting to rezone sixty-six tenths (0.66) of an acre to Residential (R-2) Zoning District.
The Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan designates the subject property for Residential. The subject property is located on the west side of Herman Rd. (Private Drive),
located approximately one-tenth (0.1) of a mile south of the intersection of Hendricks Mill Rd. (State Route 903) and Herman Rd.,
located in the Meherrin magisterial and electoral districts, also identified as Tax Map 96, Insert A, Double Circle 1, Parcel 1.
4. Rezoning Case #26-011. Amos Oveson, Lake Gaston Resort, applicant, is requesting to rezone four (4) acres to Residential (R-2) Zoning District.
The Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan designates the subject property for future Residential Use.
The subject property is located on the north side of Lake Resort Drive (Private Drive), located approximately sixth feet (60’) west of the intersection of Hummingbird Lane (Private Drive) and Lake Resort Drive,
located in the Powellton magisterial and Meherrin electoral districts, also identified as Tax Map 101, Parcel 20H.
The public hearings will be held at the Brunswick County Government Building, Board Room, 228 North Main Street, Lawrenceville, Virginia.

Joint Public Hearing
PUBLIC NOTICE
The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Board of Supervisors of Brunswick County, in accordance with Section 33.2-331 of the Code of Virginia, will conduct a joint public hearing in the Board Room of the Brunswick County Government Building, located at 228 N. Main Street, Lawrenceville, Virginia at 7:00 p.m., or shortly thereafter, on Wednesday May 20th, 2026. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive public comment on the proposed
Secondary Six-Year Plan for Fiscal Years 2026/27 through 2031/32 in Brunswick County, and on the Secondary System Construction Budget for Fiscal Year 2026/27.
Copies of the proposed Plan and Budget may be reviewed at the Brunswick County Administrator’s Office, 228 N. Main Street, Suite 300, Lawrenceville, Virginia,
or the Virginia Department of Transportation, located at 1013 W. Atlantic St. South Hill, Va 23970.
All projects in the Secondary Six-Year Plan that are eligible for federal funds will be included in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP),
which documents how Virginia will obligate federal transportation funds.
